Indefinite fast enters third day

February 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - HUBBALLI:

The indefinite hunger strike launched by Devanand Jagapur, general secretary of the autorickshaw drivers and beedi workers associations, seeking allotment of Ashraya houses to autorickshaw drivers and beedi workers, entered the third day on Saturday.

Mr. Jagapur said that unless there was a written assurance on meeting their demands, he would not withdraw his strike. Doctors from the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital checked his health, while Mayor Shivu Hiremath and others made futile attempts to convince him to withdraw his strike.
