The district received torrential rain on Wednesday owing to which the inflow into major reservoirs has enhanced. The inflow into Linganamakki reservoir — that was at the rate of 13,828 cusecs on Tuesday — increased to 30,062 cusecs on Wednesday. Vehicular movement along Shivamogga-Sagar stretch of NH 206 was disrupted for sometime as owing to tree-fall in Tuppur and Konehosur villages. The gushing wind also uprooted as many as 15 arecanut trees in Tirthamattur village in Tirthahalli taluk.

Agumbe and Sulagodu have each received 15 cm of rain, followed by Linganamakki (12), Hosanagar (11) and Humchadakatte (10).
