The second Pre-University students, who completed their exams on Monday, can log on to the website of the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) to see how their papers will be evaluated and raise objections if any.
This is the first time that such an initiative is being launched.
DPUE director C. Shikha said the scheme of evaluation of all 34 subjects would be put up on the website. “A student can register by entering their roll number and the OTP (one-time pin) they receive on their mobile phone. They will have to file their objections, if any, in 100 words,” she said.
Students have three days (March 28 to March 30) to file objections, which will then be given to subject experts for consideration.
To bring uniformity
Ms. Shikha said the aim of this exercise was to bring uniformity in evaluation. Last year, evaluators unanimously took a decision to award grace marks for the mathematics paper.
Meanwhile, the II PU examination saw very few malpractice cases compared to previous years. This examination season saw 38 malpractice cases, around half of what was witnessed last year.
This year, the department took up various measures, including installation of CCTV cameras in examination centres, and introduced several examination reforms under the Karnataka Secure Examination System after two paper leakages last year.
