‘If teachers do not feel secure, education will suffer’

August 18, 2013 10:00 am | Updated 10:00 am IST - Kolar:

N.B. Chandramohan, former Deputy Director, Department of Collegiate Education, has said that job insecurity and lack of facilities for lecturers will adversely affect the quality of education.

“Wrong policies of governments that leave lecturers in the lurch ultimately affect the future of thousands of students,” he said after inaugurating a district-level convention of guest lecturers, organised by DYFI, here on Saturday. The former official said that peace of mind among the teaching community was vital for effective dissemination of education.

DYFI State unit general secretary B. Rajashekharmurthy, who was the chief guest, criticised the Congress government in State for its “failure to address the problems of guest lecturers”.

A State-level convention of guest lecturers will be organised on September 1 at Senate Hall in Bangalore to seek support for their demands.
