‘I won’t contest elections in future’

May 16, 2013 11:45 am | Updated 11:45 am IST - Mysore:

The former Minister B.A. Jivijaya, a Janata Dal (Secular) candidate who lost the Assembly elections from Madikeri constituency in Kodagu, has announced that he would not contest any election in future. Speaking to presspersons in Madikeri on Wednesday, Mr. Jivijaya said that he lost the elections by a small margin owing to the false propaganda of the Congress and the BJP.

Mr. Jivijaya accused the two parties of entering into a secret pact to defeat him in the elections.

Mr. Jivijaya had earned the sobriquet, “giant killer”, by defeating the former Chief Minister late R. Gundu Rao in the erstwhile Somwarpet constituency in Kodagu in the 1980s.
