I am not scared, but police have to do their job: Karnataka CM

"Even though the garland was gifted by a known person, how could it be allowed inside the chamber"

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his discontent over the security breach at Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday when a supporter presented him with an LED light-equipped electronic flower garland.

Reacting to the incident in Mysuru on Wednesday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said though the garland was gifted by somebody known to him, the moot question remains as to how did the police allow it inside his chambers, he said.

“The garland was inside a box and was fixed to a cell. Police was unaware of it as somebody familiar had gifted it. Perhaps they thought it was brought to please the Chief Minister who had completed two years,” said Mr. Siddaramaiah.

“First of all I don’t want any high security as I harbour no fear or perceive any threats. But the police have to discharge their duty and ensure minimum protection,” he added.
