‘How can we serve milk at 12.30 p.m.?’

May 07, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - MYSURU:

Children studying in classes 1 to 10 at government schools and those in anganwadis are being served milk under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme which had been integrated with Akshara Dasoha in schools.

Though midday meals are being served to children in drought-affected taluks in the State, the scheme of serving milk to the children had not been considered.

The reason: the children don’t come to the schools in the mornings and therefore milk is not being served to them.

“As most children come to the schools to avail themselves of the facility of midday meals around 12.30 p.m., how can we serve milk to them at that time,” a source said.
