The fifth All-India Mahamela of Kannada Organisations located outside Karnataka will be held in New Delhi on January 24 and 25.
Karnatak Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Dharwad, and Delhi Karnataka Sangha are jointly organising the convention with the assistance from the Department of Kannada and Culture.
President of Karnatak Vidyavardhaka Sangha and veteran journalist Patil Puttappa told presspersons here on Saturday that while they had been raising the issues concerning Kannada at various forums, they would be doing so at the national capital through the convention of ‘Horanadu Kannada Sanghas’.
Mr. Puttappa felt that it was because of lack of united and concerted efforts from MPs of the State that the rightful demands of Kannadigas had not been met and Kannada language had not got its due.
The two-day convention will be held at Delhi Karnataka Sangha Sabhabhavan on Rao Tularam Marg, R.K. Puram Sector 12.

Supreme Court Judge V. Gopala Gowda will inaugurate the event in the presence of Nijagunanda Swami of Nishkala Mantap. Union Ministers from Karnataka Ananth Kumar and G.M. Siddeshwar, floor leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge, RDPR Minister of Karnataka H.K. Patil, Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi and the former Minister P.G.R.
