Wants strict action against those who vandalised Primary Education Minister’s house

Taking objection to pro-Kannada activists vandalising the official residence of Minister of Primary and Secondary Education on Saturday, Home Minister R. Ramalinga Reddy has directed the Director General and Inspector General of Police to take strict action against them.

In his letter to DG and IGP R.K. Dutta, Mr. Reddy said there was no provision for the protesters to indulge in violence while taking up a cause. Hence, the police should take strict action against them. He also directed the police to take precautionary measures to ensure such incidents do not recur.

A senior police officer said the attack on the Minister’s house was considered as a serious lapse on part of the police, causing major embarrassment. The area where the incident occurred is considered highly sensitive, as the official residence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is just yards away.
