Home Minister: They are acting on Amit Shah’s directions

Coming down heavily on the BJP and its ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ rally, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday said that the party was trying to disrupt law and order as per directions of its national president Amit Shah.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said the BJP had become “hyperactive” after Mr. Shah’s recent visit to the State. “Mr. Shah asked the leaders how they could win elections if the law and order situation was good. So the party has organised the rally,” he claimed. The rally was another “short-cut adopted by the BJP” to come to power, he said.

Mr. Reddy said when the police asked for details of the rally, the BJP leaders could not provide it.
