Australia-born Hollywood actor Isabel Lucas has, of late, developed a taste for typical Malnad food. Staying in an Ayurvedic centre in the small town of Hariharapura Koppa taluk in Chikkamagaluru district, she has come to love not only the environs but also the simple South Indian food.

Ms. Lucas, known for her roles in Home and Away series and films like The Loft , Careful What You Wish For , Red Dawn , and Immortals , came to know about this Arogyaniketan Ayurveda Ashram in Harihara, run by Dr. Ashwin Shastry in 2010 and has visited the place three times since.

“I got to know about this place through one of my friends, who is also a popular musician in Australia. I was interested in Ayurveda,” the actor told The Hindu .

She is not undergoing treatment for any particular ailment, but for nourishment and rejuvenation. She has undergone Panchakarma, Shirodhara, Tyladhara and other procedures in the centre. She spends her time in the centre reading film scripts and relaxing. “I love to stay at the centre surrounded by coconut trees. I visit temples nearby and the riverside,” she said. She has been keeping a low profile, visiting only Koppa and Sringeri. Ms. Lucas is returning to Sydney in a couple of days.
