The Chikkamagaluru district administration has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in Mudigere, Koppa, N.R.Pura and Sringeri taluks on Thursday due to heavy rains in several parts of these taluks. The road connectivity between Kalasa and Horanadu has been affected as Bhadra is overflowing. Several roads in these taluks have been flooded, affecting normal life.
Deputy Commissioner G. Satyavathi has ordered the closure of schools and colleges taking the ground reports into account. N.G. Basavaraj, Deputy Director of Public Instructions, said the decision was taken late night on Wednesday and the information had been communicated to all officers and teachers.
