Holi, the festival of colours, was marked by gaiety and revelry in the city on Monday. Many downtown areas, including Gandhi Bazaar, Durgigudi and K.R. Puram Road, were abound with music and colour. Youth formed pyramids, broke pots filled with coloured water and danced to popular Bollywood and Sandalwood tunes.

Police personnel were deployed in large numbers at Shivappa Nayaka Circle, K.R. Puram Road and Mandli localities to maintain order.
