Maheswaraiah takes charge as Central University VC

President Pranab Mukerjee has appointed H.M. Maheswaraiah as Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Karnataka located at Kadaganchi in Aland taluk in Kalaburagi district.

The President has, in his capacity as the Visitor of the university, appointed Prof. Maheswaraiah, former Professor of Kannada and Linguistics at Karnatak University and Director of the Centre for Excellence in Classical Kannada at the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, as the third Vice-Chancellor of the Central University, as per statute 2 of the Central University Act 2009 for a tenure of five years.

Prof. Maheshwaraiah took charge on Monday from in-charge Vice-Chancellor M.N. Sudheendra Rao.
