Heavy rain leaves many houses damaged in Belur, Halebid

The hailstorm that occurred in Belur on Saturday afternoon has left many houses damaged. Vehicle-users were inconvenienced as the roads were inundated.

The rain, coupled with wind, lasted for almost two hours in Belur and the nearby villages. All roads in Belur were flooded. Banners and other advertisement materials displayed by various organisation at different locations and the barricades placed to handle the traffic movement were all disturbed and damaged.

Houses damaged

Owing to the heavy rain in Halebid hobli on Friday evening, at least 15 houses were damaged and many trees uprooted. The worst-affected were Shivasenahalli, Sooranaikanahalli and Dombarahatti in the hobli.
