Hundreds of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) staged a protest here on Monday and urged Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader to regularise their services.

They staged a protest outside the District Health and Family Welfare office under the banner of All-India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC).

Later, they went to Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Kalamandir, met Mr. Khader, who arrived there to participate in the inauguration of AIDS and HIV awareness campaign, and urged him to fulfil their various demands, including regular payment of performance-based incentive, toilets and drinking water facilities at government health centres and medical kits.
