The Karnataka High Court today ordered issue of notices to government, Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), H D Revanna and others on a batch of petitions seeking probe into allegations of misappropriation of funds and violations in recruitment process in the Federation during the tenure of Mr. Revanna who was its Chairman between 1994-2001.
Justice S Abdul Nazeer ordered issue of notices to the respondents after the hearing petitions filed by Satish Bhat and Natesh Kumar.
The petitioners claimed that as per the re-accounting report submitted by the cooperative department, there is evidence to suggest that decisions taken by Mr. Revanna as chairman had caused a loss of about Rs 56 crore to the KMF.
They also claimed that the chairman was responsible for violating recruitment norms in over 68 cases.
They further contended that Mr. Revanna, who is now President of Hassan Milk Cooperative Society (HMCS) during his tenure as Chairman, KMF had succeeded in buying the Cooperative department’s inter-department audit report which had indicted him for causing loss of Rs 38.25 crore by flouting norms in over 19 occasions.
The petitioners alleged that despite knowing about this report, the then Chief Minister N Dharam Singh who was heading the coalition government supported by JD(S) rejected it without even bothering to look into its merits.
Besides this, the petitioners stated that Mr. Revanna had flouted several recruitment norms and appointed 68 individuals causing a loss of over 16 crore to the KMF and was able to cover up the scam with the help of his younger brother, H D Kumaraswamy who the Chief Minister then.
The petitioners also sought for disqualification of Mr. Revanna from his present post as President HMCS.
