Social activist Anna Hazare said there should be oneness between speech and deeds for the development of the nation.

Addressing the students of Siddaganga Mutt here on Sunday, Mr. Hazare said there are more speeches than deeds in the country, which do not help the development of the nation in any way.

Later, speaking to reporters, he said that he was happy to visit the mutt to have a darshan of Dr. Shivakumara swami.

He said the students of the mutt are being taught the teachings of 12th Century social reformer Basavanna.

Along with getting academic degrees, young people should also learn and adopt spiritual ideals. After seeing the 107-year-old seer Dr. Shivakumara, Mr. Hazare said, “I am 77 now. I now have the confidence that I will live for 100 years.”
