Young limbo skater and holder of two Guinness World Records from Belgaum city, Rohan Kokane (12) has been invited to exhibit his skating skills for a TV show in Istanbul, Turkey.

He is the only skater to be invited from India for the event, being organised by Film Yapim Chihangir between July 22 and 25.

According to his coach Suryakant Hindalgekar here on Saturday, Rohan will perform limbo skating, limbo spinning, bottle juggling and stick balancing at the show.

Rohan, a class 7 student of St. Xavier’s High School in the city, has successfully demonstrated his skills at shows in Germany, Italy, and Hong Kong in the last two years. At the same time, he has not neglected his studies. He scored 92 per cent marks in Class 6.

Another record?

Son of Ajit Kokane, owner of an electrical and electronics spare parts shop, and Anupama Kokane, Rohan has been practising since he was eight. According to his father, Rohan is expected to create another Guinness World Record in Istanbul.

A member of the Belgaum Roller Skating Academy, he has participated in various skating rallies organised to create awareness on social, educational and health issues and in competitions at the State and national levels.

He practises regularly under the watchful eyes of Mr. Hindalgekar. Other coaches in the city such as Umesh Kalghatgi, Prasad Tendolkar and Sudhir Kunsane have been guiding him to remain focussed and determined.
