The Mysore University Research Scholars’ Association has urged the government to appoint a full-time Vice-Chancellor to University of Mysore (UoM).

The term of the fourth in-charge V-C Ningamma C. Betsur, comes to an end on May 26, as her term as Dean of Education Faculty ends, the association said, and added that UoM was deprived of a full-fledged V-C for 15 months now after the tenure of the earlier V-C ended on January 10, 2017.

Mahadevaswamy, association president, said the previous government did not appoint a full time V-C, that resulted in many administrative and academic decisions being stalled.

The association demanded the government appoint a full time V-C so that all administrative and academic decisions could be taken and the varsity could function effectively and efficiently.

Meanwhile, sources at the university said it had already sent a list of five deans of various faculties to the Governor’s office and is awaiting approval and appointment of any one.
