Governor Vajubhai R. Vala will address the Joint Session of the State legislature in Hindi on February 2 at the newly renovated hall of the Legislative Assembly.

Copies of the Governor’s speech would be printed in Kannada, English and Hindi.

The Governor had also addressed the Republic Day parade in Hindi.

All former Governor’s addressed the State legislature in Kannada or English. But Mr. Vala has sought a copy of his speech in Hindi, said Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, T.B. Jayachandra.

A 10-day session of the State legislature would held from February 2-13.

The Opposition is expected to use the session for attacking the Congress government for its alleged failures on various fronts, including alleged involvement of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in denotification of lands set aside for the formation of the Arakavathi Layout in Bengaluru.

Mr. Jayachnadra told reporters that the Government was not embarrassed by the changes made by the Opposition with regard to Arkavati Layout.
