Veteran Kannada lexicographer G. Venkatasubbaiah has urged Sanskrit scholars to translate books from Sanskrit to Kannada.
He was speaking at the inauguration of Samskrit Evening University and the release of textbooks in Sanskrit here on Saturday.

Mr. Venkatasubbaiah requested Sanskrit scholars to translate at least one book from Sanskrit to Kannada every year.
Governor H.R. Bhardwaj released the new books published by the university for Prathama, Kavya and Sahithya courses.

The Governor said that there was a need to learn Sanskrit to protect and propagate the Indian culture.
