Governor H.R. Bhardwaj on Monday said he would not intervene in the matter relating to the need for Jagadish Shettar government to demonstrate a majority in the Assembly in the wake of a series of resignations by BJP legislators.
More than 15 MLAs have resigned from the Assembly so far during the last few weeks.
Stating that “these are matters of Constitution,” he told presspersons on the sidelines of an event here on Monday that it did not matter if the MLAs had resigned. “The government has already demonstrated its strength during the Budget session. For me, there is no case of intervention,” he said.
Mr. Bhardwaj said that with the elections to the urban local bodies so close, he was “not going to put my hand into all this now.”
