Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said the government would hold pension adalats at the hobli-level to redress grievances of beneficiaries of various government schemes.

He was speaking at a programme to mark International Day of Older Persons, organised by the Directorate of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens here. Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the adalats would redress grievances on the spot. Mr. Siddaramaiah advised the department to enhance the amount given to five elderly persons to honour their contribution to society. He said that it should be increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1 lakh. The government would provide the funds, he said.
