Continuing his tirade against the Congress, BJP national president Amit Shah alleged here on Tuesday that “goonda governance” prevails in the State.
Addressing presspersons in Surathkal near Mangaluru on the second day of his coastal tour, he said that people in the State were looking for a change from “goonda governance to good governance”.
The law and order in the State has collapsed. “This is a three-M government of murder, mafia, and Ministers’ corruption,” he alleged adding that the Congress in the State was indulging in “ideological and political victimisation”.
Mr. Shah said 19 scams and 22 political murders have been reported during the Congress rule in the State.
Asked why people should vote for the BJP, which gave three Chief Ministers during its term a decade ago, he said the party has learnt lessons from it. “We have learnt a lot from the last experiment,” he said.
To another question, he said the State has not sent any proposal to the Union government on banning the Popular Front of India or the Social Democratic Party of India.
Referring to the recent move of the State government to withdraw cases against innocent minorities, he said it was “appeasement politics”.
Assault case
Earlier, addressing party workers at Kukke Subrahmanya and B.C. Road, he said the delay in arresting Mohammed Nalapad Haris was not just because he was the son of a ruling party MLA, but was part of the Congress government’s minority appeasement policy.
While the BJP is solely concentrating on development, the Congress, he alleged, is indulging in politics of appeasement thereby bringing development to a standstill.
