Gold, silver items taken away from temple

Thieves broke into a temple at Shedimane village in Kundapur taluk coming under Amasebail police station limits and took away gold and silver items.

According to the district police, thieves broke into the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Durgaparmeshwari Temple at Shedimane village between 6 p.m. on May 5 and 5 a.m. on May 6 and decamped with silver items such as a chain, an ‘aarati’ plate, a ‘prabhavali’ and a ‘patake’, and gold items such as a chain, a mask, a medal and a prabhavali’.

The value of the stolen items had been estimated at Rs. 1.2 lakh.
