Home Minister K.J. George on Thursday congratulated the Union government for its role in arresting the two terror accused, Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal and Lashkar-e-Taiba mastermind Abdul Karim Tunda, stating that this would help boost anti-terror measures.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. George said that the State police too would interrogate Yasin Bhatkal as he is wanted in two cases of bomb blasts in the State. “The law will take its own course,” the Minister said but did not wish to elaborate on the issue.

Asked if there was any possibility of retaliation by the IM in the wake of Yasin Bhatkal’s arrest, the Minister said that the State police was on the alert and the intelligence wing too was strong enough to handle the situation.

He said that he would convene a meeting of the heads of the Bangalore city civic agencies and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation to discuss the steps to be taken to ensure smooth traffic movement in the city.
