Garbage issue rocks Hassan CMC meeting

September 19, 2013 03:39 pm | Updated June 02, 2016 01:29 pm IST - Hassan:

The issue of clearing garbage within the city limits rocked the first meeting of the Hassan City Municipal Council here on Wednesday.

Many members demanded necessary measures to keep the city clean. Newly-elected president of CMC Srividya had convened the meeting.

Gopal, a member, wanted to know why the contractor had been paid, even though the city remained unclean.

Other members also joined Mr. Gopal and pointed out the garbage issue. H.S. Prakash, Hassan MLA, also expressed a similar opinion.

The members said Health Officer Stephan Prakash was not monitoring the garbage clearance works.

The council decided to take disciplinary action against him.
