‘Gandhi’ software for monitoring rural works

October 02, 2013 03:12 pm | Updated 03:12 pm IST - BANGALORE:

The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department has decided to adopt Gandhi Sakshi Kayaka software to ensure transparency in execution of development works by the department.

It will become operational on Gandhi Jayanti.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, RDPR Minister H.K. Patil said that all works of the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department, Karnataka Rural Roads Development Agency, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd. and works executed by rural local bodies would be monitored using the software.

However, works executed under the MNREGA and works taken up under the Rural Drinking Water Supply Department cannot be monitored with this software.

From October 3, the public can also monitor works by visiting http:/gsk.kar.nic.in.
