Freedom fighters’ pension to be released through banks other than SBI

Freedom fighters, who are drawing pension through the State Bank of India, have been asked to opt for other nationalised banks.

Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram said here on Monday that the pension would be disbursed through SBI only till May 15. Thereafter, freedom fighters could opt for other nationalised banks to get it.

Those from Belagavi district have been advised to inform about details of other nationalised banks if they had opened an account or if they want to open a fresh account. The details consisting of PPO Number and SBI account number and the new account number (of other than SBI) should be sent to Control Room, Pension Disbursement Monitoring Cell, FFR Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, II floor, NDCC-II Building, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi-110001.
