Four held on murder charge

Four persons have been arrested on charge of murder of a 19-year-old here.

Police have identified the dead man as Riyaz Pasha, son of Anwar Pasha, a resident of Tunga Nagar.

The arrested are Abdul, Nazia, Rasul Khan and Mohammed Ali.

Riyaz Pasha’s parents had lodged a complaint with the police that their son had gone missing. Locals found the dead body of Riyaz in a decomposed state on Saturday and alerted the police.

Investigating officers found that a dispute over a common wall between two houses had triggered tension among members of two families leading to the murder of Riyaz Pasha.

Police said that Abdul and his wife Nazia had told Rasul Khan, a construction worker, that they would give their daughter in marriage to him if he taught a lesson to Anwar Pasha’s family. So, Rasul Khan and his friend Mohammed Ali took Riyaz to an open field near Tunga Nagar on May 19 and allegedly stabbed him to death.

A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code against the four with Tunga Nagar police station.
