Four get President’s Police Medal

18 are recipients of Police Medal for Meritorious Service

This Independence Day, three police personnel and one from the Home Guard have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service from the State. Another 18 personnel will get the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, and four have been awarded the President’s Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.

Malini Krishnamoorthy, Bengaluru Additional Commissioner of Police (West); A.B. Rajendra Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nelamangala); and Munihanumaiah, Police sub-inspector (CID), have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Ramesh, Deputy Commandant of Home Guards in Dakshina Kannada will be awarded the President’s Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal.

A release listed those receiving the Police Medal for Meritorious Service as: P. Rajendra Prasad (SP-Kodagu), Basavaraj Jille (Commandant-KSRP), Shankar K. Marihal (ACP-Traffic Belagavi), A.R. Balarame Gowda (DySP-CID Forest Cell), B.K. Umesh (DySP-CID), Sudhir M. Hegde (DySP-ACB), Basavaraj R. Magadum (DySP-KLA), M.B. Meghannavar (DySP-Kalaburagi), M.S. Gullari (Inspector-Hubballi), Gangadharasa (PSI-Bengaluru), K.A. Srirama (SPL ARSI, KSRP), M. BABU (ARSI-DAR Mysuru), Sharavana (ARSI-DAR), N.S. Iyengar Raju (HC-Intelligence), B. Narayana Rao (HC-KSRP), Suresh S. Abbiheri (HC-PTS Koppal), K. Ananata Rao (constable-DSB Kalaburagi), A.A. Mirji (constable-ISD Dharwad).

The President’s Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service recipients are: H.J. Chandrakanth (Senior Platoon Commander, Davanagere); Basavalinga (Platoon commander, Ballari); P.T. Basavarajappa (Sergeant, Tumakuru); and K.V. Manjunath (Section leader, Bengaluru).
