Four die as car hits tree

Four people, all residents of Bengaluru, died when the car they were travelling in hit a tree near Kumbaragatte on Bengaluru-Mangaluru Road in Sakleshpur taluk on Tuesday evening. The police identified the deceased as Krishna Kumari (22), Dhananjaya (24), Nishanth (23) and Kishan (22).

The four were returning to Bengaluru after visiting Dharmasthala in a Maruti Swift. The driver lost control of the car at a curve near Kumbaragatte. Krishna Kumari, Dhananjaya and Nishanth died on the spot. Kishan died in a hospital in Sakleshpur.

Following the accident, traffic on the NH 75 was hit for about two hours.

Senior police officers visited the spot. Sakleshpur Rural police have registered a case. The police are trying to contact the relatives of the dead.
