All the four persons travelling in a car died on the spot after their vehicle collided head-on with a lorry near Shivapur on NH 60 coming under Kudligi police station limits, during the early hours of Thursday.
Police have identified the deceased as Sangamesh, Shivanand, Basavaraj, and Kiran, all residents of Sindagi in Vijayapur district. They were returning home after a pilgrimage. Police had to strive hard to retrieve the bodies in the front seat as they were struck.
Santosh Lad, Labour Minister and district in-charge, Vijay Dambal, Additional SP, Savishankar Naik, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials, visited the spot.
