Four arrested on charge of burglary

The police have arrested four persons for allegedly breaking into their friend’s house and robbing him. The arrested have been identified as Sumanth Acharya and Nithin, who are studying B.Com at a private college, and Srikanth and Ravi Kumar, employed as cooks in the city. The four were friends of Vedanth, a student pursuing the second year of a pre-university course at a private college here.

On finding out that Vedanth’s parents were out of town, the accused broke into his house at Sharavathi Nagar and threatened him. They took away Rs. 2.50 lakh in cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 2.40 lakh.

The police said that the arrested had threatened the victim of dire consequences. Vedanth told his father Dinesh Shetty about the incident. Mr. Shetty lodged a complaint with Doddapet police station.
