Four arrested for killing labourer

Four including a woman were arrested on Wednesday on charges of murdering a labourer Prasanna Kumar (32) in Antharasanahalli industrial area in Tumkur city.

The police gave the names of the arrested as Prasanna Kumar’s wife Muthulakshmi (21), Srinivasa (20) of Mashanipalya in Tumkur taluk, Venkatesh (30) of Thovinakere in Tumkur taluk and Naresh (19) of Yellapura in Tumkur taluk.

According to the police, Prasanna Kumar of Sompura in Koratagere taluk was brutally murdered on October 13th, in Antharasanahalli industrial area in Tumkur city using lethal weapons.

An alcoholic, Prasanna Kumar frequently quarrelled with his wife Muthulakshmi, over petty issues. He allegedly beat his wife in an inebriated state suspecting her of infidelity.

Muthulakshmi, who was fed up with him had moved to Ahobala Agrahara in Tumkur taluk. She reportedly had an illicit affair with Srinivas and had influenced Srinivas to kill her husband so that they could live together.

Srinivas with the help of Muthulakshmi, Naresh and Venkatesh allegedly killed Prasanna Kumar.
