Former judge celebrates birthday in a unique way

Jinadatta G. Desai, retired district judge, who is also a poet and the vice-president of Bharatesh Education Trust, has set an example on sharing one’s wealth in a meaningful way.

On the occasion of his 81st birthday two years ago, he had donated Rs. 81,000 to the trust to be distributed as scholarships to needy students.

On his 82nd birthday, he donated Rs. 82,000. On Tuesday, while celebrating his 83rd birthday, the former judge donated Rs. 83,000.

During the academic year 2014-15, BET gave scholarships worth Rs. 6,41,342 to 90 students.
