Bindushree M., daughter of an ex-serviceman, has emerged topper in the II PU examinations (Science stream) in Hassan district by scoring 588 marks of 600.
A student of Masters’ PU College, Bindushree scored 100 each in Kannada, physics, and biology. Interestingly, her sister Poornima M. was among the toppers in the same college last year.
Mahesh V.H, who served in the BSF, is happy for both of his daughters. “They studied hard and secured good marks,” he told The Hindu . Bindushree said her elder sister was a source of inspiration for her.
Greeshma P. of Brilliant PU College in Hassan secured 100 each in physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology. She is the second topper in the district with a total score of 585.
Hassan district has improved its ranking this year. Last year, the district stood 12th with pass percentage of 65.47. This year, the district stands in the 11th position, though the pass percentage has reduced to 59.88.
