Flying Officer’s body arrives in Bangalore

The body of Flying Officer Srikanth Chandra Prakash Madagi (26), who was reportedly killed in accidental firing in Ludhiana, Punjab, arrived here on Saturday.

The deceased was serving in the administration department of the Indian Air Force unit in Ludhiana.

The elder son of Chandra Prakash Madagi, who works as Superintendent of Police, Wireless, Bangalore, studied at the National Defence Academy (NDA) before joining the IAF.

Mr. Chandra Prakash Madagi told The Hindu that the last rites would be conducted on Monday after his younger son returned from Japan.

According to his friend Tejas, Flying Officer Srikanth Madagi worked in Bangalore for more than a year and was posted to Ludhiana six months ago.

According to sources, he was killed while practising at a firing range there on Thursday.
