A five-year-old girl was clubbed to death by her step-father after he found her spilling kerosene in the bathroom in Amruthalli on Saturday.
The deceased along with her elder sister had come to stay with her mom last week. The two girls who are staying with their granny insisted that they want to visit their mother and had come to see her.
According to police, Aruna a house keeping staff married Bhaskar Naik a cab driver few days ago. Naik who clubbed the girl to death cooked up a story that she fell from the terrace and unconscious while playing.
Doctors who examined the injuries informed the police detained Naik who confessed to the crime.
