Kannada Sahitya Parishat has announced the names of five artistes for Smt. Thayamma L.C. Mallaiah Folk Endowment Award for 2012-13.
They are Chikkolamma, Mandya (Sobane); Gurubasappa, Mandya (Thambura); Ankanahalli Shivanna, Ramanagaram (Pooja Kunita); Chowdike Maranna, Chitradurga (Chowdike); and Sharanappa Vadigeri (folk singer).
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 3,000 and a citation, according to a release.
