Five killed in road accident near Sindhanur

Five people, including four from a family, were killed in a road accident near 7th Mile Cross on the outskirts of Sindhanur town in Raichur district on Saturday.

All of them were travelling in a autorickshaw which collided with a mini-lorry coming from the opposite direction.

The victims were identified as Shamid (45), Sabaj Ali (46) Khaja Bi (70), Lala Bi (12) and Veerayya Swamy (45) from Bhutaldinni village. The incident occurred when they were returning to their village after purchasing materials to celebrate Moharram, police said.

Sindhanur Rural Police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the government hospital for autopsy.
