Five persons were killed when the car in which they were travelling in hit a lorry near B.G. Kere in Molakalmuru taluk of Chitradurga in the wee hours of Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Sriramulu (40), Satish (38), Kumar (27) and Basha (30). The identity of the fifth person is yet to be ascertained.
According to the police sources, the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the car while attempting to overtake another vehicle. A case has been registered in Molakalmuru police station.
