Five held on chain-snatching charge

The Chikkamagaluru police, on Thursday, arrested five persons, on the charge of chain- snatching, and recovered from them valuables worth more than Rs. 3 lakh. Names of the arrested have been given as Tanvir Baig (25) from Tipu Nagar in Chikkamagaluru, Imran (21) from Tamil Colony in the town, Anju Khan (31) from Banakal in Mudigere taluk, Adil Sha (28) from Banakal and Ajaj Pasha (31) from Chikkamagaluru.

In a press release issued here on Friday, the Chikkamagaluru police said that the accused were involved in five chain-snatching cases reported from Chikkamagaluru and Kadur since 2013.
