Those who cannot visit the Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh in Bengaluru this year have an opportunity to enjoy a variety of flowers and vegetables in Kolar.

The show, organised by the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) unit of Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. at BEML Nagar, is on till January 27.

BEML has continued the tradition of organising its flower and vegetable show on the eve of Republic Day and Independence Day. The establishment at KGF is participating in the Lalbagh show too and has a record of winning a prize 17 times in the past. Thousands of plants such as button marigold, sunflower, asper, flocks, bougainvillea, and a variety of roses are on display. According to BEML estate division chief Sudarshan, plants such as palak, sabbakki, pudina, doddapatre, coriander, ragi, toor, beans, sajje, and wheat were grown in pots and kept on display.
