A man and his daughter were found dead at their residence at Keskemane village near Aldur in Chikkamagaluru taluk on Tuesday morning.

Thimme Gowda (65) was found hanging from the ceiling, while his daughter Suchitra (30) allegedly set herself ablaze.

The police have suspected that both committed suicide following Thimme Gowda’s son Satish’s complaint with Aldur police regarding a property issue.

Aldur police informed The Hindu that Satish had filed the complaint alleging that his father had not given him his share in the ancestral property. The police had called both of them to the station on Monday over the issue. It is said that disappointed with Satish’s police complaint, they took extreme step.

Aldur police have reached the spot for further investigation.
