Farmer who attempted suicide dies

A farmer, who had attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide, died in a hospital in Hassan on Tuesday. The police gave name of the deceased as Dinesh T.P (28), son of T.S. Phalaksha of Tagaduru in Chikkamagaluru taluk.

Dinesh had attempted to commit suicide in his agriculture field on July 15. His father took him to a hospital in Chikkmagaluru and was later shifted to Hassan, where he died. According to his father, Dinesh had borrowed loan from banks to grow ginger in his four acres and 16 guntas of land. As he did not get the sufficient yield due to a fungal infection, he was disappointed. Chikkamagaluru Rural Police Station have registered a case of unnatural death.
