A farmer committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence at Doddakaradevu village in Channarayapatna taluk on Friday morning. The police gave the name of the deceased as Shekhar (48). He is survived by wife Nagarathna and two children.
The Channarayapatna Rural police arrived at the village and collected details from the families. Relatives of the deceased said that Shekhar had differences with his wife. He had allegedly beaten his wife on Friday morning too. Injured Ms. Nagarathna was admitted to a hospital at Channarayapatna. Shekhar had assaulted his wife many times in the past, they said. It was said that he committed suicide because of the differences with his wife. A case has been registered.
