Farmer commits suicide

A farmer committed suicide by hanging at Chandrashekharpura in Kadur taluk on Wednesday. He has been identified as M.B. Rajashekhar (48). His wife Kamalamma told the police that he possessed four acres of land including a coconut farm. Recently he had borrowed Rs. 67,000 from VSSN Bank at Banuru and spent the amount to grow onion in one acre of land. He was disappointed as the onion crop was lost due to poor rainfall.

He hanged himself when nobody was at home. Sakharayapatna police have registered a complaint.
