A farmer committed suicide by hanging himself at his pump house in his farm at Halladahalli in Kadur taluk on Tuesday. The police gave his name as H.R. Chandre Gowda (56). He was growing onion and tomato in his farm. He had borrowed a total of Rs. 4 lakh, including Rs. 2 lakh from a bank. Due to dip in rainfall, he had suffered loss in the field.
According to his son Pradeep, disappointed over the crop loss and loan burden, he took the extreme step. Kadur police have registered a case.
